I am a 40+ year old waiter at a popular restaurant chain. My attendance, attitude, record and performance have been second-to-none in the 2 and a half years I've worked there. A memo came down form "corporate" that "All male FOH (front of house) employees are to have clean-shaven faces". Effective next Wednesday. I have had a very neatly groomed moustach and goatee' for twenty years! I WILL NOT shave it for $2.65 per hour, so I feel they WILL fire me. I don't deserve to be fired at all, but I fear that they will. I will look for another job immediately, but I DO live in a community that has been listed third-worst in the nation in unemployment. There's just not anything out there. So, I'm gonna get fired... And I need that unemployment, so I have to be careful about HOW I get fired... I just don't know what to do.
