whats the best way to fish for walleye?

what kind of lures do they like? Whats the best casting technique? What kind of waters and lake areas do they tend to gather in the most?

We have done very well in Canada and Minnesota and Indiana using hot-n-tots. I don't know about casting...or what difference it makes, but they are in deep waters against rock walls and where the water is moving fast or slapping up against walls of rocks.
