What do you think is the most unexpected twist ever in a film??..........and when did you cotton it

For me it is "The Others" with Nicole Kidman - I didn't get it until it happened.

The other one is Sixth sense - the first time I saw it I got it when they were on the bus near the end...........the second time was about a third of the way through ;)

Sixth Sense for me too.... boring I know..plus never get bored of watching it...great to watch it with someone who hasn't seen it then watch their face as the twist dawns on them !

They've all been mentioned already, but Memento, Sixth Sense, Usual Suspects and Saw. Scream when you found out
there were two killers too

PS Memento is definitely in my top 5 films of all time.

"No, I am your Father" - Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

I remember watching the films on video, having never seen them before, and that was a shock. What it must of been in the cinemas in 1980 I don't know.

The original 'Planet Of The Apes' (though the VHS release has the Statue of Liberty on the cover!).

'Jaws'. You never know why all those people are getting ripped to bits. There's a false alarm when 2 little kiRAB scare a beach with a plastic fin (I knew it wasn't them though), cannisters get mysteriously pulled along through the ocean and then, right at the end, you find out. It's a shark!

Didn't see that one coming..

For me,I'd say Donnie Darko in terms of twisty ness. :)

Sixth sense obviously, Saw and Fight Club are all good suggestions too.

Dont even get me started on Secret vWindow. *sigh*

Gotta be The Shawshank Redemption where he
escapes from prison through the tunnel hes been secretly digging for almost all of the movie

Sixth sense was good too but i already knew that
he was dead

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest ... not a twist as such, but a shock all the same when Jack Nicholson enRAB up in that state :( Makes me cry every time :o

I was say Sixth Sense got me to, only the ending I got it (1st viewing, not seen it since).

However, I watched The Bodyguard on Five the other day (in full), always dribs & drabs before, and was surprised about the twist in this, if thats what its called.

'The Golden Egg?' Something like that, love that film.

Yup Saw, Sixth Sense, Usual Suspects, all the others mentioned. What about Identity with John Cussack?

Oh.........and I forgot Titanic - I couldn't believe it when the boat sank :D ;)

.........and i'm still trying to work out how old Tom hanks must have been at the end of The Green Mile.....how do mouse years convert into human???

American Psycho had a really good twist. So good in fact that I still don't get it. This thread has just reminded me. Would anyone be so kind as to explain...slowly
