Just wondering whats the best type of tv antenna to use for an apartment building? How can I increase the odds of getting the most stations,as well I just bought a philips indoor/outdoor antenna. The price tag was high but would that be the best one around? Also it says its hdtv ready, how the heck do you get it to be hdtv quality? Also can you just go from satellite->Coaxial cable->directly into the cable jack of a tv or is there a better way to hook it up to reduce snowy picture, etc.thank you to everyone reading this and everyone's imput

The best antenna to buy is one that is selected based upon your location and specific needs. Any other way of selecting an antenna is likely to leave you very unhappy and just waste money. If you want to understand exactly how to select an antenna, start by putting your address in here:

and do not be afraid to read and understand what it is you are reading on the rest of the web site.

>Also it says its hdtv ready, how the heck do you get it to be hdtv quality<

The entire thing of labeling an antenna as high def or digital is nothing more than pure marketing BS as there is no such thing. Antennas are made for a certain frequency range and a certain gain. They could care less if you are viewing in high def or not.

>Also can you just go from satellite->Coaxial cable->directly into the cable jack of a tv<

If you try to hook a satellite antenna up this way, you will get absolutely NOTHING. Your TV is not a satellite receiver so it needs to go satellite antenna->Coaxial cable->satellite receiver->TV
