whats the best sand paper to remove chrome?

i want to put herculiner on my chrome bumpers, i attempted to remove my front and rear bumper to get them sandblasted but it was to much of a hassle, it doesnt have to be perfect i just want the product to stick to it. whats a good sand paper or product that will give it a rough surface
