David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of The Fly was wicked!

John Carpenters 1982 remake of The Thing was wicked too!

Those are my favorite remakes.

I agree with above, Oceans Eleven is great. Im not sure if there was an original movie or not, but if it is a remake then The Bourne Identity is good.

Oceans 11 ia good remake. The origional stars Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr etc., which was terrible.

Best remake has to be The Ring. The origional japanese version, Ringu, was scary. Although The Ring is slightly different it is a brilliant stand alone film. I agree that both The Fly and The Thing were excellent

Ocean's Eleven was a good remake. The old one was dire.

I like the Piers Brosnan version of "The Thomas Crown Affair" as well. Great film.

and the TV versions of "The Shining" and "Carrie"

Ah yeah, how could I forget Chuck Russell's 1988 remake of The Blob, that was great too.....
