I'm a high school senior right now, and I would like to buy a really good camera. I've taken high school photography courses, so I know how to adjust the basics (i.e. I can do more than point and shoot). I prefer a digital camera because those are more convenient and even though I know how to develop photos in the darkroom, I don't obviously have a darkroom at home 
My maximum price point would be $300. I would like something that is HD, has great picture and video quality, is relatively easy to use (I don't need too many gadgets or pieces), is sturdy, reliable, not too big. Something I can carry with me if I decide to take a picture.
I heard the Cannon 550D is really good-any comments on this?
Please help me decide on a good brand and model!!
