What's significant about the Garden of Eden being of limited size, within

specific geographic boundaries Gen.2? Although the whole earth and all creation was "good", Genesis 2:8-15 states that God planted a garden in the east, in Eden. Four middle-eastern rivers are named as flowing from Eden. Does this imply that the vast bulk of the earth was NOT in a paradise garden-like condition? The assignment to Adam - to take care of the Garden of Eden - does that necessarily imply spreading paradise conditions beyond the garden? Was not the command to spread out into the world given after sin entered in and Eden was debarred? Is there a link to being in God's will when we respect His boundaries, and cast out into difficult conditions when we over-step them? Questions of this sort arise in my mind. What arises in yours and do you have any comments? Your thoughts would be appreciated (well, the sensible, respectful ones anyway!)

to teach us that God gives us boundries and limits, and within tose limits there is safety adn protection.
It wasn't that teh rest of te world was desert, but this was a safe haven made for man by God, where everything that he needed was provided.
