My boyfriends brother got a hair up his ass and decided that he wants to start his own business. He has no idea how to do ANYTHING and wants me to be in charge of everything (getting it started, finding out what he needs, what kind of licenses etc he has to have). He wants to start an auto repair/custom detailing shop. Including custom body work, custom paint, basic car repair etc. The only problem... which I have addressed to him many times, is that he nor my boyfriend have a license in auto repair. My boyfriend has alot of auto mechanic knowledge but no degree or certificate to show for it. And for some reason my boyfriends brother thinks he can start a shop based solely on his knowledge. Just so I can tell him that I looked into it... What all does he need in order for this to be legit? Insurance? Degrees/Certificates? Do you have to have good credit in order to rent out a building for this? etc. Any information you could give me would be helpful. Especially if you have your own auto business or have any experience in the area.
By the way... I know that this idea of his is just some pipe dream and will never really happen. But I want to tell him that I atleast made an effort to find out how far fetched his dreams are lol. Thanks
