how come there is a peak power for subs when ur supposed to just match up the rms whats the peak exactly mean???

Peak power is all that can be handled and any more will burn them out. Distortion is not addressed and will probably be present in the worst way at peak power. RMS (root mean square) is a formula for unwasted and nearly undistorted power. Above that is often clipping, waste heat, voice coil crashing- all the ugly stuff that isn't program.

It's just the way they specify it. You have to convert one to the other.

Peak power is the RMS voltage squared divided by the resistance of the speaker.
