what's it like to learn how to play the piano?

It's definitely not the instrument for you if you want to do as little work as possible. While it's true that you can learn a few chords relatively easily, to become a good musician and understand the theory, you must devote plenty of time to practice. I've played it for quite a while, and contrary to popular thought, it's not for sissies. However, as I said, for a few chords here and there it's not too difficult. It just depends if you want to learn for pleasure or a career. The latter would require MUCH more work.

I don't want to discourage you, but at first, you'll be extremely frustrated. Separating your hands to do two different things, learning to read two different staffs at the same time, and learning how to even read music altogether can be a drag. If you can keep determined, it later on becomes a rewarding instrument.

i'll have to be honest, it isn't that easy...
but if you have enough determination and you are willing to give it a lot of your free time, you will definitely learn how...
after all the time and sweat, it will pay off knowing that you know how to play...
playing the piano is great cause it relieves stress and makes you feel good about yourself...

its not that bad. its pretty easy. in the beginning they teach u easy stuff so its really easy, but u need to practice, and go to every session.

Everyone is different, for me it was easy to learn, but I lost interest because I kept getting new Piano teachers.
But it is a cool instrument to play.
I would say it is easy - medium. fun - little effort

frustrating at the beginning but when you start getting better you can enjoy it and play some songs you enjoy.

its fun. but you need a teacher. every time you play a song right you feel great!!

It takes patience and a lot of practice. It's not that hard. I took lessons when I was young and got tired of my teacher only wanting me to play silly little songs so I quit and taught myself how to play. I play by ear, but can't sit down and read the music and just play. I have to read the music and learn the notes, then play the melody by ear. You must learn the basics though. Piano is beautiful, you should learn.

It depends what you learn and how you learn it. I'm *VERY* basic at it, as i got a keyboard for x-mas, but once you know certain things then playing goes quite well. Look on youtube, there are a lot of basic tutorials and stuff, i learnt a basic intro to Fur Elise (Beethoven). Also learn notes, like what notes fit in with what and which key things should be in, etc... sounds complicated but once you get used to it it's easy (i say that but i can't read music and stuff that well.. I know how to, just slowly lol)

oh, it's very rewardinging aswell when you do learn, as something will bug the hell out of you, then when you get it it feels really good lol
