Whats important to you?

You know, I can understand why people would prefer writing over animation, but I don't understand why, to some people, judging a cartoon based on visuals is stupid.

I mean, I'm not going to watch a cartoon if I think the character design is hideous. Yes, I'm probably missing out on something very well-written, but is it really worth to spend 20 minutes of your life watching something you don't like looking at?

Because to me, it isn't.

Same here. If I hate how the show looks, I'm not really going to watch it. I'll give it a chance, but the bad art would be too distracting.

I would say all of the above with Writing first, Animation second, and Music third.

Writing, It's what lets me watch a dozen webtoons, not all of whcih high quality. I think if someone has an interesting story to tell, I should listen, even if they can't afford to animate it well.

Y'know, as much I as want to say 'writing', and it is important...I gotta be honest with myself. Would I really want to sit down and spend 20-30 minutes of my time watching a show with designs or animation that I thought was ugly?

It doesn't need to look like a 5-star movie masterpiece, not at all. But if you can't make your show visually appealing in some way, maybe the story is better told in another medium.
