I didn't get along with picky eaters. This was long before I had an

something about the negativity that rubbed me wrong.

Julie,

You seem sweet and I've never seen you say anything nasty but you'd
probably drive me nuts to dine with.

Growing up I don't remember dessert unless it was a holiday dinner
with company. However we did often have a snack later on, like two
hours or more after dinner; anything from a hunk of cake, a bowl of
ice cream, a cup of pudding, or just plain fresh fruit.... I still do
the same, I never eat dessert immediately after a meal.

What she eats or doesn't eat doesn't bother me, it's looking across

wouldn't want to nibble any stinkin' chocolate chip cookies either. ;)

My reaction was more along the lines of "Thank you for sharing". Although
tone doesn't come across on the Internet, so you might need to hear me
saying it ;).

But a lot of the posters have got it right IMO - some simple home-style
dessert would be fine. Ice cream, mousse, panna cotta would be excellent,
esp. with some sort of fruit-with.

Exactly. We had dessert on holidays. That's when Mom would break out the
good china. Some people think dessert is an automatic part of dinner. Just
didn't happen in my house. I'm glad about that because I have never had to
go on a diet and pretend yoghurt was the same as pie or cake ;)

If you prefer boxed dessert mixes to made-from-scratch,
make whipped topping from 1 package of Dream Whip and incorporate 1
package
of Jello Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding mix.Hi Polly! You gave me quite
a laugh with the "tired of chewing"
remark! Ha! What a hoot!

Up until a few years ago, I used to make desserts or other foods to be
brought it to Coast Guard parties. They did away with that sort of thing
when they realized they had too many overweight people. They didn't
necessarily stop the parties. Just the fattening foods.

If I'm ranting you'll know it. Just like you Charlotte.

Just as we expected. I baked a lovely lemon pie. There was a half-gallon
of home made vanilla ice cream in the freezer. Don't know why I bothered to
make the meringue pretty. Three scoops of ice cream on top covered it up
anyway. Sure is fun to feed those guys. Polly
