My car was stolen about 2 weeks ago. I spoke with the adjuster I was immediately given a rental car and we completed our application and I was told an investigation would be conducted. Which was fine by me as I have nothing to hide. Today a detective called me and basically accused me of stealing the car and said if the car turns up burned or totalled I'm in big trouble and I'm going to jail!!!! He further stated that my car which is a 2008 Nissan Maxima is impossible to steal and he continued to imply that I had something to do with the theft. I thought it was a joke at first but once I realized it was real I got really angry and me and the detective got into a shouting match over the phone. Is this what the adjuster meant by investigation?? Me being interrogated by the detectives? is this normal? what should I do about this because I don't think its fair at all. Is there someone I can report him to because I don't appreciate the way he spoke to me and out right accused me of taking the car.
