Actually they get taxes, permit fees and "royalties" for practical purposes royalties are taxes if thats what you're getting at.

you think they can just stop it? they already tried that with the top kill, it failed...the costs of each barrel spilled far outweigh the revenue, your math and logic fail

the BOP is something like 50 feet above the sea floor, not to mention under 5000 feet of water. there's no way to just bury it.

ok god, that shit was hilarious...

these leftwing commie morons that get on tv and are self professed experts really piss me off...although I think drilling the relief wells first was in a newspaper article...

the profits fromt he oil they spilled and are going to sell

how about all the profits you greedy faggots

"Between 1970 and 1979 there were an average of 25 oil spills per year of 700 tons or greater (from shipping). Between 2000 and 2009 there were just three per year on average. Oil companies lose money and soil their image if oil spills. They have a huge incentive to stop spills. These incentives cause them to invest in better safety controls."

Hrmph

Of course. And everyday companies like BP invest millions to get better alternative energy programs.

Countless billions over the past few years.... but yes, lets get rid of the company that leads the green energy movement in comparison to shell, chevron, exxon-mobil, etc.

LOL
