When I have my foot on the brake at a complete stop, my car sometime shakes more than usual. Pepboys said this is from the engine mount and reccomended I replace it. Would a bad engine mount cause this. I just had new front brakes, front rotors, and rear drums installed. I drive a 99 cavalier

I may have answered another question a while ago about this car problem. You may need a tune up. Intermittant engine shaking can be from spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter, vacuum leak, and many other possibilities. One fairly easy method to check for a couple of things is to start your motor in a dark area at night, raise the hood and look for sparks or electrical arcing. If you have bad wires or boots, it will look like a light show under the hood. If you find this, I would change wires and plugs for starters. Possibly the distributor cap and rotor also. Start with the obvious.
Did PepBoys actually put the car on a lift and really look at the engine mount? I wouldn't put this at the top of my list unless they actually confirmed that this was the cause of the problem. Ask them if they would guarantee that engine mounts will fix the problem. My bet is they will say "No."
It's possible a vacuum leak from the vacuum booster causing a lean mixture and a miss, but I would suspect a check engine light if that occurred.
Set the parking brake and take your foot off the brake to see if the vibration still exists. If the vibration goes away, then the vacuum leak I described might be the problem. If the vibration is still there, then there's another problem, maybe ignition wires, plugs or other related items
Idle fuel mixture circuit or injectors if applicable. When you are stopped, the engine is at idle. When you accelerate, your idle fuel system shuts down and your high speed jets come into play..

more like a vaccum leak if it just does it at or when your holding brake check brake booster or for a vaccum leak might even be a bad spark plug or just a fuel thing but id guess its a bad vaccum hose
