As i pulled my jeep off the parking lot, i noticed it has lost power to accelerate immediately. It takes time to reach full speed even with gas pedal down. Then sometimes it operates normally before gagging again. What could be the problem. When i opened the hood, i noticed some greasing or oiling on the engine too. Please help

you either have a vacum leak or a dirt in your fuel system.
you can try a good fuel clean like techron and see what happens. if that doesnt help any then you better get to a mechanic so they can find the vacum leak.

Possibles are fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump, Ignition components, over due for tune up, low compression or any number of sensors that may have failed. You gave a very vague question so I gave a lot of possibilities. Suggest you see a qualifies technician and have the problem properly addressed.
