What's Better for Animation PC or Mac?

I'm currently going into animation and I'm wondering if a PC or Mac is better for applications such as ToonBoom, Maya, Pinnacle, Final Cut, and the likes.

Both work as long as you got the power to run those programs. I personally like using PC's as my laptop is a PC and back when I went to school the animation classes all used PC as well. However my friend has a Mac and she can run Maya fine. When I took an editing class we used Macs there and it ran fine. I think really it's up to what you feel more comfortable with Mac or PC.

I think one of the bigger arguments for Mac are Final Cut Pro and Shake, which you can use to edit and composite your movie. Both are Apple-only products and have become industry standards in a very short span of time.

On the other hand, one of the bigger arguments for PC is that they're way cheaper and while the software may not be as good, it's still much more than adequate for what you want to do, certainly as a beginner.

So, get what you can afford and are more comfortable using. I don't think you're going to suffer by picking either one at this point.

If you already have a PC, I don't know if it's worth springing for a Mac in addition to the other costs you're going to have to deal with. I doubt the differences are as big nowadays, since the software is made and optimized for both types of systems.

But if you don't have any computer yet, maybe a Mac. I've never owned one personally, though.
