what's a great US History research essay topic?

Hello, i'm having trouble deciding on a topic for my US history research essay. there are waaayyyy too many good topics to choose from! i have to make 5 key questions for whatever i choose and bring in 5 sources, so i need something that there are actually books about. Also, i'd like to find one that's a lil more varied than what most of the class will choose. if you have any ideas on a great topic that could be interesting through all 5 pages of my essay please post them here. thanks in advance. =]
 
Black Panther Party

Many don't know about them, especially if you are in a predominantly White neighborhood. This is a topic with the diversity you are looking for and it shows the other side of the movement besides the MLK JR. one that everyone knows about.
 
Research a book called "A Nation of Sheep". It was written some time ago but its amazing how history seems to repeat itstelf.
 
How many Native Americans we killed and disgraced along with how many treaties we broke. Also how we killed millions of them and forced them on death marches.

A lot like the holocaust!
 
try writing about either something having to do with martin luther king and his speech, or someone who stopped segregation like Rosa PArks. or you could compare george washington to Barack Obama and see how different the US is now compared to how it was when GW was in the white house.
