What's a great introductory book for contemporary Psychology?

I'd like to get a book for a friend of mine which introduces the individual to contemporary psychological theories. I'm hoping this book doesn't use to complicated of wording because she is considering to take psychology studies in University & such so I'd like to give her a book which exposes her to the study generally.

Any suggestions?
