I'm looking for a vehicle that suits me. Primarily, I need one with a relatively good city and highway mpg. I live in a small college town with little to no public transportation, so I have to drive a lot within the town. On top of that, I have to make occasional 300 mile-long trips (150 there, 150 back, all highway miles) to visit my family. So, gas mileage and some level of eco-friendliness is a big priority.
On top of that, I'm really into nature and spending time outdoors. I'd like to find a car that can handle that. Something with good off-road performance would be nice, but it's not entirely necessary. I currently drive a VW New Beetle, and while I love it, it can't even handle a pot hole or a big speedbump. I need a car that can handle a rough road, because there's a lot of them around here.
I'm not really looking to buy new, so slightly older models would be good.
Thanks in advance!
