Whats a good road bike for a teen aged beginner?

Hi, my name is Dan and i need some help with buying a good ROAD bike. I have seen many cyclists in my area and would really like to start cycling.I plan to use the bike for mostly riding to and from school. The trip is about five miles to school in the mornings, but i also want to start riding weekends to the nearby State park and Canyons.(Las Vegas,Red Rock State Park). I have a budget of about 750$ and want to know what the best bike is for that amount. Im also fifteen and 5'6'', because i know that the size of the bike matters greatly, so what is the best size for me?. Any additional information of what i should take into consideration would be greatly appreiated. Thanks
