Whats a good PS 3 game to play online?

I've been looking for a PS3 game to play online and not sure what to get if its Call of duty, Gears of war, Resistance , street-fighter or little big planet for my girlfriend. Looking for a game to have fun with single player and online play so it wont get boring. Any advice would help.ty
 
If it's for your girlfriend, Little Big Planet would be a suitable game for her as it's fun & creative which girls like stuff like these.

If it's for you, I would suggest Battlefield Bad Company or CoD5.
 
killzone 2 had a pretty good campaign. kinda short, but the online is intense. rather than it being a traditional shooter like halo and cod, it features a class based system. for example (once unlocked), you'll be able to play as sniper, scout, sabatour (spy), and 6 others.
 
call of duty world at war: has online caimpaign co-op, online nazi zombies mode, graet multiplayert mode with 3 map packs adding even more fun,

battlefield badcompany: HUGE multiplayer maps,

battlefield 1943: remake of 1942, it has pretty big maps, it is online only and is only 15 bucks!!

wolfienstien multiplayer is fun as well as burnout paradise
