My father plans to teach me survival skills, edible plants, etc., and I'm tasked with finding a suitable area for said activities. What's the best place to go for that? I live on the edge of Sacramento in California, about 30 minutes away from a popular lake recreation area and 45 minutes away from El Dorado National Forest. I'm thinking the forest would be best because there'd be less people there and it would be much more lush. But I'm unsure of the LEGALITY of it; also how we'd actually enter it without stepping onto private property. Any thoughts?
