I'm a fan of Raymond Kouhry books. He's a pretty good writer and some of his stuff have been best sellers.
He has one book I liked that was called "The Sanctuary" and features an ouroborus on the front. Anyway its a book set in modern times about a scientist who gets wrapped up in a mystery/conspiracy about a method of living forevor and the CIA agents who helps her....no love interest there, for the record. Its pretty interesting, not great in my opinion but very cool. And also has some deep scientific and philisophic thoughts about the concept of being able to lengthen human lifespans. Thought provoking to say the least.
