im after buying some manga films

the ones ive seen and liked where ones like fist of the north star, ninja scroll, is there one called devil man ????

what are some others you recommend

devil man was another im sure, and theres another i cant think of the name, where theres a samurai sworRAB man ( not the one with samuel l jackson voice) i dont think

its the one where the enemy has bees in his back and one man can lose a lim and pick it up and stick it back on :D

Think that is Ninja Scroll, it certainally had a enemy with a hive as part of his back full of wasps/bees.

here are some suggestions, some are movies, some are OVA(OVA = Original Video Animation, made for TV/Video/DVD movies.)

Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence
Akira
Karas
Strait Jacket
Vampire Hunter D
Appleseed - original and the two newer ones
Hellsing Ultimate

Fist of the North Star was one of the first ones I saw, exploding heaRAB ftw

Lots more I can't think of at the moment.

I liked Legend of the Overfiend.

I'd strongly recommend to the OP to get any of these films from abroad as BBFC censorship of manga is absolutely notorious.

The only one I own - and the only one I've ever seen - is Patlabor The Movie. Wonderful animation, great action scenes, poetic script, and an exceptionally thick plot.

Patlabor and Patlabor 2
Perfect Blue
Wings of Honneamise
Venus Wars
Gunbuster

Does it have to be films, there are a lot of good anime (that's the term for it, manga usually refers to the comics, unless you are referring to the company Manga Video) series out there as well

I might as well say it, seeing as no one else has. Animations are known as Anime, Manga is the name for comics. It's confused in the west by one of the major distributors of Anime calling themselves Manga as a company name.

As for what's worth watching - well, one way or another, pretty much all of them. Like beer, or porn, there's only less good, not bad Anime.

Anything from Studio Ghibli is pretty near the top, and Ghost in the shell movies and series are all excellent, but a list of good Anime would be vast.

Oh, and make sure you watch them with subs, otherwise the obnoxious American dubs will reduce these great works to nothing more than inept episodes of Scooby Do, or any of the other junk by-the-numbers kid's animations.

My mate kept on badgering me to buy him this for his birthday so I did. Went round his to watch it on his home cinema system, with great big projector and surround sound. AfterwarRAB I joked that I wish I had never met him, let alone bought him the damn movie :p

I was a huge Anime fan for many years and then I bought the boxset for Overfiend and Demon Womb and it killed my love for it straight away, horrible film with poor plot and poor animation and there is only so much anime boob I can handle.

My choices would be:

Platlabor 1&2
Streetfighter 2 (100 times better than the live action one)
Blood: The Last Vampire
3x3 Eyes
Ghost In The Shell
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
The Castle of Cagliostro

Urotsukidoji.....awesome stuff, all monster cocks and demon seed LOL

"i dont want to kill you, I just want to f*ck you!"

etc.

I have this on DVD, it makes me look bad.
