What's a good investigation/experiment for my science research project that

won't take very long? I have to "conduct an investigation" for a science assessment. Here's what I have to do:

1. Choose a question to be answered
2. Create a hypothesis that my experiment will prove (or disprove)
3. Research what other scientists have found out about the topic.
4. Carefully plan how I will conduct an investigation to answer the question. This will include how and when you will do the experiments of investigation and what equipment you will need.
5. Create a report on my results.

So basically, I need an idea for an experiment that could preferrably be conducted in a few days and is fairly cost effective ($20 or less). Any good ideas?

Examples would be "How long do different liquids take to freeze" or "How does salt affect the growth rate of mould on bread?", and I can't do anything that's open to error or is very influencable such as "How do different people react to being tickled?" or "How many marshmallows can different people fit in their mouths?" etc.

Thanks heaps for your help :D
