What's a good fantasy book or series for a middle schooler?

Not Maximum Ride or Harry Potter, since I have already read them. And can you tell me if the Artemis Fowl series are any good?

Series of Unfortunate Events

Leven Thumps

Ballet Shoes (series)

The Prophecy of the Stones

Twilight (it actually is a good book)

Inkheart (series)

I heard Artemis Fowl was really good and I wanted to read it myself...

I'd tell you I love you but then I'd have to kill you (there's a 2nd book too, don't know what it's called sorry)

Midnighters (series, I think its supposed to be kind of scary, got three of them but haven't started them yet)

The Princess and the Unicorn looked pretty good at Barnes and Noble (lol)
