Whats a good beginner guitar?

Hi whats up guys
I've really taking interest in learning guitar after hearing some music by jack johnson. Such as

I have no experience and looking to purchase my first guitar. Also going to sign up for a guitar class next semester in college or maybe summer. My price range is going to be around $250. Any recommendations? And also how long will I get accustom to play guitar if I was to self taught?

Go to a local store that carries Cort, it'll be the best bang for the buck you'll find. Well built for the money, a decent Korean peice instead of the Chinese junk many of the rest have become. They actually build many of the budget guitars for better known branRAB such as Fender, Ibanez, Schecter, and several others.

Takamine's are nice too, but you wont get as much for the $$$.

yamaha pacifica is a really good beginner guitar that is what my first one was and i got it for about $150

I bought a Gibson DR-200 for about $140... it's been my baby since. (only been playing for 5 months)

Just go up to a guitar shop and try out a few in your price range, maybe a squire or epiphone. See which neck style feels more comfortable and go with it.

Find a nice used Seagull. I've been looking around myself, and they're wonderful acoustic guitars.
