What's a conservation camp?

I read somewhere that someone was in prison, and got transferred to a conservation camp. What is it?
Nope. It's Conservation Camp.
 
You probably mean a concentration camp. It is a facility with the express purpose of holding people until they are killed. Generally for ethnic or political reasons.
 
Usually a low security facility used by DOC for a type of rehabilitation of offenders.
The inmates reclaim land, by breaking up rocks, concrete, planting trees and landscaping work.

Kind of like what people thought they did on chain gangs but without the chains, Just general guards.
