Whats a better guitar for a beginner, the fender CD-100 or the yamaha FG 700s?

Yamaha guitars espicially the FG series are considered really good for beginners. The Fender CD series is ok for beginners and has a reasonable pricing. I've never played a Fender acoustic before so i can't elaborate on it.

I do have a Black Yamaha FG720sbl i call Balto and he is one AWESOME guitar. Balto was a bit expensive. He was $500 but he is always in tune even when i don't play him for days. He isn't too heavy or light. The neck is designed so you have a good grip. The sound Balto makes is just pure awesomeness of extreme awesomeness!!!

i want to start learning guitar and am getting one for christmas. i've been doing a lot of research on guitars and these two seemed pretty good choices. i dont live near any guitar centers or anything so i wont get to try them out, so i was hoping the yahoo answers community could help! any suggestions are much appreciated, and please elaborate!!
-also i plan on sticking with it. i took lessons as a kid and loved it but we lost my guitar when we moved and i havent been able to play since...
