Whatever happened to Title Cards?

The Batman TAS title cards were fantastic. They creeped me out when I was little though.

I don't think the title card has totally disappeared. My Life as a Teenage Robot had some beautiful title cards (which you can see on the Frederator website).

Oh yeah! Those were great. They were dark and moody, and looked like Comic book covers. Really fit the mood of the series. Of course, this is pretty much the only time I've ever seen that sort of thing in a dramatic show.

They were a nod to the old Max Fleischer Superman cartoons, IIRC. A very nice touch.

Indeed, Danny Phantom and Batman: TAS have some very excellent title cards.

Anyone else think that original TC's for the episodes are much much better than plain, reused stock cards?

Well, of course! Original, artsy title cards look far better than anything that's plain or reused.
