Whatever happened to the government reducing the financial load on working Americans...

...during this recession? Obama promised it. But most of what I've seen since the election is record-high Congressional spending. Question: Where does Congress get the money to finance their plans? Answer: From taxpayers' pockets; they do not fund this any other way.

All I've seen is "take, take, take" in the name of "give, give, give" from my President and Congress since the election. It's all well & good to call it "giving" if it comes out of your own pocket; but it's a little bit of a stretch to call it "charity giving" or a generous "bailout" when you're taking your "gift" out of the pockets of an unwilling other person - last I checked, that was called "robbery."

If "robbery" is how this administration defines "reducing the load on working Americans," I don't want any more of it. Unlike Obama's cabinet members, I pay my taxes, even though they are expensive (not anywhere near as expensive as theirs, though - I'm not filthy rich like they are). I am a working American, and I pay my taxes. I already went into huge debt this year just trying to pay my taxes which were higher this year than last year - because I have plenty of expenses and barely make it as it is. And all I get next year is even higher taxes - thrusting me even further into debt, that is, if I still have a job by then. I AM a working American - where's MY break?

There are plenty of breaks not going to working Americans, at least by my definitions of those terms. I don't define "working" as being on welfare. I don't define "Americans" as illegal aliens. Plenty of breaks are going to those people. What happened to the breaks for real working Americans?

If you know where MY break is, please tell me. I sure need one. If there isn't one, I want a BREAK from this administration.

The higher taxes next year that you refer to are most likely the result of past Congressional actions just now "kicking in". Without more specific financial data (but only your word on it)

I am mot very sympathetic to any wage-earner complaining about their taxes. I see it as motivation for the wage-earner to take a proactive role in their Government to "pick up" where they "left off" when they started watching the TV entertainment and stopped contacting their elected officials.

Take the energy that you put into Y!A ranting and complaining, put it to use researching and studying to gain understanding of the process, then Effectively Complain (with proposed viable solutions) to your Congressional and State Legislative Reps. While you are at it," spread the word" to gather up a "grass roots" group of like-minded and similarly troubled folks so your voice alone is not as easily ignored.

I am saying, "Don't swine and complain, but COMPLAIN loudly and with facts in unison with your fellows and effectively have your proposed well-thought-out solutions considered.

Or is it a sin in your book to be an activist grass-roots community organizer. IMHO it all of our responsibility to be such as we are able! It is our Right To Free Speech IN ACTION and responsibly exercised! If not you than who? If not me then who? If not us then who? Shooting-off ones mouth so full of unsupported opinions is a luxury and is not what is meant by The Right Of Free Speech, dija know?

Sit and complain and sit more? Or Complain, stand up, gather up, COMPLAIN and ACT to put forth a solution? Which is more likely to have some good results?
