A year or two ago when we were shopping in supermarkets/shops or just out and about and thanked( for instance) the teenager on the till, or other tradesman, they would reply "You're welcome." Now they say "Not a problem!" And we were greeted with "Can I help you sir?" Now it is "you all right mate?"
Is anyone else dismayed by the lack of a polite manner of communication? Is it the fault of our education system or perhaps the media?
