...tilt, and cruise? I have an 04 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0L that I need the steering column for. I bought one which supposively was the right one at the junk yard but the installer is saying it won't work, it's for a 1998 and it doesn't have the chip key it's the regular key.
 
take it back to him and tell him to get the right one all junkyards buy parts from one another when they don't have what a customer wants
 
the rule of thumb when buying used parts is "a year before and a year after if you cant find your year"also since it is a chip key you probably have to tow it to the dealer to have the vehicles computer reprogramed to accept the new key and column($50-300)goo:D luck
