What year Yamaha YZ 125 to buy?

Looking at buying a used YZ 125. I was wondering How much they have change I have found a 03 that has ben hardly ridden by a girl mint condition completely stock. But for the same money I could get a 05 or a 06 with a pipe but the newer one have ben used a lot more not as good of shape as the 03.
Has the YZ changed a lot what is a good year . any info would be good THANKS
 
From 05 on.. they went to an alum frame...Not sure if they are better but they look better...I think any yz 125 from 2001 on is a great bike.

In 2001 they changed a few things like the carb..They went to a 38mm carb and a better power valve set-up..You would do good with the 03 if you can get it for $2000 or under.
