What year(s) of dodge caravans can interchange engines with a 2000 caravan?

I have aquired a 2000 Dodge caravan that needs a new engine, was driven with no oil suposedly and now the engine is blown. Is it possible to interchange an engine from a dodge caravan from a different year, if so what years are interchangable? Can not find an engine for a 2000 locally, but have found a few for sale from late 90's models. Also if anyone has a quick idea of the cost of having a new engine put in, I know it varies from place to place but a general idea of how much I can expect to pay would be appreciated. Thank You
