P Peg Leg New member Dec 15, 2010 #2 Chris, I just purchased the 69th older motor from yours. 6SJ 6H6 S 007903 My understanding is that the 6SJ means 6=6hp, S=Short Shaft 15" and J=1986. See the list at the bottom of this link. Yamaha Outboard Parts 1986 Mine has elec start and I'm trying to find a owners manual or some info on this. I realize it's been a long time since your post. I don't know if you've already found this info or will even get this reply.
