What year did Walter Camp invent football?

I know that it was derived from rugby and yadda yadda. But for a quiz that I have it says that Walter Camp invented football and I just need to know what year. Walter Camp, not anybody else. Please don't tell me that Walter Camp wasn't the inventor of football and somebody else was. I just need the year for Walter Camp. Please.
