I am having to replace the automatic transmission in my Honda Accord 1997. It is a 4 door, 2.2. engine, 4 cylinders. (It is not a Vtec)
Thank You

I believe that any Accord powertrain that was built from '94 to '98 should work. It was basically the same engine from one point to the next. Although, I would try to find a later built one, some of the earlier examples had some cooling system issues and the coolant passages were redesigned to correct the problem. It wasn't a common problem and a higher capacity water pump may be all that is needed to remedy the condition. If anything, a rebuilt engine may have one already installed. Just make sure to rent a space in a real garage, modern engines are designed to be installed from beneath and a proper car hoist would make your life much easier.

I don't know, but the guys at the junk yard probably do know. Most likely if you know the tranny model number you can do a further search to verify the junk yard people.
