What would your Heisman ballot look like?

Cam Newton is both the best, most dynamic college football player this year AND the best player on the #1 team. He's also had one of the best college football seasons that I can remember over the past 20-25 years or so. Very rare that you see a player like this and if voting on the football field alone, I can't see someone making an argument for a player other than Newton to win the Heisman (and I'm a big fan of Luck, as well as James and Moore). He would likely have received 90%+ of the vote and won by the largest margin in Heisman history.

But he likely won't win by that margin. Because the Heisman trust says you should vote for the player "whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity."

Yes, we know the results of the investigation. Dad, a minister, was trying to sell his to the highest bidder. And I don't know a person who believes that Cam had no idea any of this was happening. And this was after he was found with a stolen laptop and chucked it out the window as the police arrived. So while his performance cannot be questioned, his integrity sure can.

A few different opinions:

"The NCAA says it has no proof of any payoff, of Auburn's involvement or that Cam knew about daddy's scheme. Fine. This isn't a court case. The NCAA also found a ridiculous loophole — Cam said he didn't know — to allow Newton to keep playing. It is a loophole the NCAA knows it will have to close soon or else parents everywhere will be marketing their kids and the whole freaking system will collapse.

Yet to simply assign all the blame on the "cesspool of college sports" is to absolve frauds like the Newtons. I'm not buying."

"With the privilege of voting for the Heisman Trophy comes a feeling of great responsibility. That's why so many voters have grappled with the question of Cam Newton and the Heisman.

But you know what? It's not our problem - as long as Newton is eligible. It very well could be a huge problem for the NCAA and for the Heisman Trust. But it is not our problem and not our place.

We should vote for the best player in college football, and in my opinion, there is absolutely no logical argument that anybody besides Newton should be listed first on a Heisman ballot."

So what would your ballot look like? Newton in 1st, or off the ballot? It seems like those are really your only 2 options.

Cam Newton will win, and win big. But I'd leave him off the ballot. I'm tired of cheaters and excuses. But more than that, I'm tired of enablers. The parents, teachers, coaches, and voters who say they hate the same things, but their actions continue to reward people based on their talent. My ballot would be:

(1) Kellen Moore
(2) Andrew Luck
(3) Denard Robinson
