I know its not a totally unique idea, but I was thinking of a story line and I thought it would actually work pretty well set in an underwater station.
So it would be set in the future, after a global crisis that killed most of the population and caused Earth to be mostly uninhabitable. People who do stay move to previously unused areas like Antartica, and have adapted to the conditions. Others built space stations and underwater stations.
The story takes place in one of the underwater cities, population of a few thousand. The characters are a group of teens. One day at school, one of the teens is daydreaming and sees a large movement outside of the window. Its quick and he’s the only one that sees it. Later that day at dinner in a community cafeteria, many people see it. People start to worry and talk about it. Things start going wrong with the underwater station (power outages, shaking, electrical malfunctions, etc). The teens(along with everyone else) try to figure out what’s going on. I don't want to give away the ending, but.....what do you think so far? Does it sound interesting?
