What would you think of a fantasy novel from a castle's point of view?

The other day I had this crazy idea to write a fantasy story from a castle's point of view since any fantasy story becomes cliche due to the insane amount of fantasy novels out there. Thus, I thought about doing something rather different for a change. It would be about Castle Tintagel in England, which is one of the alleged castles that housed King Arthur while a boy and there is even a cove by the nearby beach that is known as Merlin's Cave by the locals. So I thought it would make an interesting read. Of course, I'd do a lot of research and have already done some. But the story would be from what the castle thinks of the different scenes that unfold from room to room and tower to tower. It knows what goes on in every single chamber so I thought I just might be onto something.

Any thoughts?

P.S. Tintagel Castle is a real place although it's now in ruins. You can look it up on Google or a history book on English castles if you want.
