I want to buy a new car, a Lexus RX350 but what would be a good price in these tough times?
The dealer told me that the economy is great and that the cars are “flying out the door” and that he can sell me one “for $2,000 above list price” of $56,000 CDN. I said “What?” “Don’t you know that the world is falling into a depression?”
There is a used car dealer that is selling a 2008 Lexus RX 350 for only $41,000 and at first I thought that might be a bit high but then I checke the “Canadian Black Book” web site to appraise it and the site gave me values between $42,700 and $44,900.

So, do you think that the $41,000 is a good deal for a lexus RX 350 with only 13,000 killometers (7,800 miles)?

I agree with the guy above me. The Toyota Highlander is basically the Toyota RX350. It's plush, quiet, luxurious, unique, distinctive, etc(aka everything the Lexus is not), and you can get it for 30K O.T.D.

you are a smart shopper because you have shopped around and also gotten the lowdown on pricing.
With todays operating costs skyrocketing,,its important to know your monthly budget on these costs,,,,in addition to the current market value of the car.
You must remember that a used car dealer is under no obligation to intermingle the facts and the truth in his sales pitch. Its all part of the marketing process.

I think if you were smart you'd buy the Toyota equivalent and save yourself $10,000.

All you'll be doing is trading the "L" on the grill for a "T" and eliminating a few useless options along the way.
