What would you like BEV to do in 2008?

...wow, In 2008 I'd love to see SOMETHING new happening with my BEV for Condos...HD? PVRs? Interactive TV? ...even an official timeline would be appreciated.

Lots of great suggestions. I will probably be repeating other's thoughts but...

My wishes for 2008:

-Fix the 9200 "issues". The jump to live bug is a serious PITA to me. It makes it not worthwhile to watch something until it is completely recorded. On a live sporting event it is seriously grating. I try not to hear the commentators or see the score as I start over and fast forward to where the jump to live occured. Please fix this!

-Activate the USB so that I can add an external HD. 25-32 hours of storage fpr HD on my 9200 is WAY too little. Because of the jump to live bug I don't watch the 1 P.M. Sunday NFL games until 4 P.M. and then watch them while the 4 P.M. game is on. This requires 4-8 hours for the 1 P.M. games plus at least another 4 hours for the 4 P.M. to record on. Add some HD movies on there I haven't watched yet and the crazy thing is already full! Please activate the USB so that I can add an external Terabyte drive.

-Please give us Showcase HD and National Geographic HD. Remove some lousy SD channels or lose a PPV HD channel. Don't use 3 HD channels on one transponder unless it is going to be 100% transparent to me the end user and customer. I have been noticing a lot of artifacts and flaws on many HD channels and content lately. Unacceptable. Some NFL games are truly awful.

-Stop the annual price increases. The quality of my BEV experience actually decreased in 2007 with the HD channels suffering. If anything your price should go down due to the increased quality. Lots of HD channels yes; but I would be happy to give up Rush, Oasis, Equator to add Showcase and National Geographic HD plus some better PQ.

-Please make the quality job #1 in 2008. AS much as I would like more HD channels the ones I have now are often not that much fun to watch with the artifacts etc on them.

Exactly, and seeing as DishNetwork has done this, they are getting rid of all of their old inferior technology to the dum dumbs to the north
I doubt Bell would get the same sweet deal on refurbished sw44's as they would on DP switches....

I think you will get your wish.

Might not still be called Express Vu for Condo's but from what I hear there is a big push to install Dish's on Condo buildings to offer Express Vu HD to these buildings.

I would like BEV to add Turner Classic Movies immediately. This is something they could do now, and it would help a little with customer relations.

The following are not possible, but just a dream of mine.
1. Secure the signal.
2. Only two hd channels per transponder. Delete as many sd channels as needed to accomplish this.

Bell has already provided an official timeline for Bell TV For Condos HD, PVR, Interactive, On Demand ... you can still read about it on the bce .ca investor relations pages for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 ... the timeline, of course, was 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 ....

There is a local cable option that delivers all that.

Sticking dishes on the roof to deliver HD isn't exactly what was promised.

Ask condo owners if they care whether they get HD, or PVR via a phone line, or from a dish, and I would bet most wouldn't care....
I'm sure, after being promised these features would be available in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.... they will accept a dish solution, if that will get them HD

My three wishes:
- secure the signal
- more HD channels
- cancel theme packs and let customers decide what channels they want

- cancel theme packs and let customers decide what channels they want
- More HD without more compression.
- Open up the USB port.

...thanks to those who replied. Fer sure, at this point I'd like anything regardless of how the signal gets into my condo. Overall, I'm happy with the digital service I'm receiving...its just that if an HD signal was available I'd finally have an excuse to get a new TV. ;)

As for the other "option", I've just had a bad history with Teddy and won't go that route.

Happy New Year everyone.

Two wishes:

-The succesfull launch of Nimiq 4
-All MLB games on TV(except the Blue Jays games on TSN and Sportsnet) will be available on MLBEI. Last year, near the end of the season, some games were only shown in HD.

My wish from Expressvu would be for all MDU's using a Dish to deliver service to residents to have a mandatory upgrade to a Dish that will support 2 or maybe now they should consider 3 orbital slots. Cant get HD on Bell here, wont allow dishes on balcony and from what I just said, only get Nimiq 91 through the bulding wiring. I hate Shaw!
