I've got $2,000 to work with. I own a 95' Nissan 240 sx se. I love my car rides beautiful, but I crashed it and it need body work and I'd like a new interior since its had a lot of wear and tear but I have also found a 98' Mustang GT Coupe for about the same price. Rides good, interior is clean all I would do is a simple paint job. The paint job on the Mustang would have to wait though. I don't know which way to go. I'm torn. Invest in the 240 or just buy the Mustang.
I forgot to mention the 240 has never left me stranded or been in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance.

To tell you the truth I prefer Ford and Mazda products, however the 240 SX is a classic and fun to drive no matter how you cut it.
If I were in your shoes, I would buy the Mustang and forget about the paint job. But keep the 240 SX and restore it. Very soon it will qualify for classic plates and has the potential to be a show stopper at an auto show, even more so if you do a quality restoration in it.
That is provided you have the room for two cars, a place to work on it and the money budgeted for repairs.
There is just no way you will ever be happy with the Mustang and you will always regret letting the 240 go. So why not have both?

If you have $2000 worth of body damage on your Nissan, it may be time to retire it.

But with a $2000 Mustang? You might be buying someone else's problem.

If the Nissan still drives straight following the crash, I would start looking around online for a replacement S14 front clip (assuming you crashed the front).

The 240SX is a wonderful car for modding. There are so many possibilities assuming again that you didn't damage it too badly. Various Z-car parts and JDM Silvia parts can make your 240SX easily the performance match of a 95-98 Mustang GT.
