What would the news reporters think of them being reported on the same way they report..

...on every one else? How about a reporter that reports on the reporter. Gets into there trash. Take pics of them, there home, their children, there personal life style. Any one interested in a real independent news story. Lets see how they like it.You follow me get in my face,call it news. Well what do you think about fair play? We could call it( Back At You). Would any one watch like to watch a reality show on real Journalism?

The reporters reporting this information isn't the real problem - it's a symptom of the problem. The majority of people have an overwhelming desire to know every little personal detail that can be dug up on celebrities, sports figures and other people in the limelight. There is a huge media market for this kind of reporting. If there wasn't - and the news media wasn't getting rich off of this type of journalism, they certainly wouldn't bother with it.

I personally refuse to watch these kind of shows - as I have enough of my own reality to deal with on any given day. I certainly don't need to become emotionally involved in the real life drama of someone I don't even know.

However - the ratings support the fact that this is the kind of thing that people want to see and as long as that is the case, someone will always be there to do the dirty work of the media.
