What would it mean if you traveled in space and always wound up at the point of origin?

What would it mean, scientifically, if no matter which direction you traveled in the universe you always return to the point at which you started? (Like a parallax image I think it's called.)

Is this a theory posed by any scientist? Is it a possible theory and what could it mean in more technical terms.
