What would happen if you get caught keeping illegal fish as pets?

So, before I talk about this question I just want to confirm that I dont keep any illegal fish and are not planning on keeping any. I am just curious. How much trouble would you get into for keeping illegal fish in Australia? Thanks :)
THAT IS CRAZY! I thought they would just kill the fish. Do people ever get caught if they have the fish in their pond?
 
since it is against the law you would get fined unless it was severe you could get in much more trouble for animal abuse! in some cases animal abuse is a jail sentance!
