What would happen if we limited Unemployment Benefits to 3 months?

Not if you are good at your job. And if you hire people who have actually had jobs before, you can probably convince them to give you a little extra notice before they jump ship when something better comes along.

then unemployement nurabers would drop just because of how it's counted...and people would probably riot in the streets.

I've been laid off since septeraber...there's shit out there

spoken like someone with a job. Yeah, why can't it just be that easy? Why can't it just work out? My "degree" that I'm going outside of....Business Administration. I didn't go get a fucking theater degree, I put myself through school while working full time in a corporate 9-5 job. Once I got that degree is when I got booted.

Now here's a fun fact: This weeks jobs report was good news...really it was, the media was all over it. 117,000 jobs added just last month!!!! ......now think about how many millions have been laid off in the last 6 months......now think about the 10,000 CISCO just laid off last month. There's 10% of your layoRAB right there in your "job creation". The jobs aren't there, but keep tossing rocks. Hope you don't end up here one day, man

If they can prove they didn't have such anxiety/insomnia prior to going to war, they deserve it.

There are a lot of ex-military people with partial hearing loss who get disability benefits. Partial hearing loss isn't going to disqualify them from many jobs, but they're wholly deserving of the pay as well.

Exactly.

At best you're going to be seeing half of your previous wage, and that's only if A) you weren't making a lot to begin with, and B) your state doesn't have a ludicrously low cap (like Florida's ~$200/wk cap).

Neigrabroador asked me to borrow $200 dollars last night and pay me back today when his check came.

He doesn't apply to any jobs and spenRAB all his money on alcohol. I don't know how he still qualifies. He hasn't paid rent in 6 months and somehow is still here.

UI isn't so bad, because if you receive it, you likely paid into it.

Welfare is another story- drop ALL that shit.

edit- I've never received UI, but would apply if I lost a job and needed income to tide me over until I filled my next position.

Look, I don't want to sound like a shitty bum with an excuse for everything, but I'm working my ass off trying to find a job right now and get off this unemployment. I'm trying, fucker. You think this is fun?
